Shri Devkinandan Thakur, born in a Brahmin family on September 12, 1978 in Ohawa village of Mount area of Mathura, the birthplace of Shri Krishna, has been a conductor of Indian culture and rituals since his childhood. You spent your childhood listening to the description of the importance of Brij and the folk tales of Lord Krishna from your mother Mrs. Anasuiya Devi and father Mr. Rajveer Sharma from a rural background. The stories of Ram-Krishna impressed him so much that even before completing his elementary education, he joined the Krishnaleela congregation of Vrindavan. Here, playing the form of Shri Krishna, having become Krishnamaya, started experiencing spiritual peace. You would have been so engrossed in the performance of the leela that you would have looked like a real Krishna statue. It was here that the audience gave you the address of ‘Thakur ji’. in Vrindavan itselfReceived Shri Vrindavan Bhagwat Peethadhishwar Shri Purushottam Sharan Shastri Ji Maharaj as his teacher and received the teachings of ancient scriptures.
You studied the ancient Indian texts deeply and found that all the actions of God’s incarnations, saints, sages and great men give the message for the welfare of the society. All religions also talk about the progress and welfare of the society and every living being in it. Various leelas and life activities of Shri Ram and Shri Krishna were dedicated to the destruction and cure of social evils like tyranny, unrighteousness, violence, immorality, rich-poor, high-low and untouchability prevalent in the society. Today we believe in our idol but do not follow his teachings. While we can keep our present society away from such evils by taking lessons from their lives.
Considering this idea as a principle, Shri Devkinandan Thakur ji started the work of giving message against the evils prevalent in the society through Shri Ram-Krishna stories. You do not just present the stories like a story, but prove their significance and usefulness in the present circumstances. Due to which the awareness of their duties develops in the audience.
You started these inspirational stories in 1997 from Delhi . Till August 10, 2012, through 439 stories, the ideas of mutual love, harmony and culture have been spread among the people. Undoubtedly, it also has a wide impact on the listeners. The number of listeners increasing day by day in the stories of Maharaj Shree is a testimony to the fact that even today people believe in Indian civilization and culture and connect with it. The only need is to make them aware. Maharaj Shree has been successful in this endeavour.
Impressed by Maharaj Shri ‘s language style and practical discourses, thousands of people reach Katha pandals. In many major events, the number of listeners crosses the limit from 40 thousand to 1 lakh. TV. Social welfare thoughts of Maharaj Shri reach crores of people through channels also . People who believe in all religions like Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain etc. participate in your programs and give strength to your thoughts. The audience is mesmerized when the humble, soft- spoken Maharaj Shri Mridal narrates the various pastimes of the Lord poignantly. On the other hand, the sarcasm in your vigorous speech on social evils and anomalies infuses enthusiasm and courage among the people.
Vishwa Shanti Seva Charitable Trust was established on 20 April 2006 under your chairmanship . Through which Katha and Shanti Sandesh Yatras are organized at different places in India. You have started many campaigns to aware the vast masses involved in your programs against various social evils and anomalies. Through which people are united and their contribution is being taken in building a new society.
