Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Radhanath Swami is one of today’s most beloved and respected spiritual teachers. His book the Journey Home traces his path from middle class Jewish upbringing in a Chicago suburb as Richard Slavin, to his participation in the civil rights movement in the ’60s in USA, to his apprenticeships with Himalayan yogis, Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa and several other known personalities he experienced along the way, and finally how he decided to live a life of compassion. A Bhakti Yoga practitioner for 40 years, he is a guide, community builder, philanthropist, and acclaimed author.

He has been featured as a guest speaker in forums of the Young President Organization, universities such as Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, and in corporations such as Apple, HSBC, and Microsoft.

He has also addressed the House of Commons and House of Lords in London and was invited to meet with the US President Obama and the Former Indian President Smt. Prathibha Patil.
